Television shows seemed possible but Noah steered clear of these because of the 5-year contract commitment. Then came the script for the pilot of "ER" (1994), and the part of Dr. Carter looked very good. Three auditions later he had the role. His least favorite scene on "ER" (1994) was mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of a dog; his alltime favorite the Emmy-nominated scene where he stood in a dark room reading to legendary actor and acting coach Sanford Meisner in what is probably the last work Mr. Meisner (94 years old and very ill) is likely to be filmed in. 1.
